Twelve Days of Covent Garden
The Covent Garden Christmas lights have been switched on, the ice rink at Somerset House is up and we are proud to join in the festive spirit with our ’Twelve Days of Covent Garden’ themed Christmas tree, displayed in the iconic Lobby Bar. A tribute to our independent neighbourhood, its history and the local places that give Covent Garden its soul, the tree is a love letter to the surrounding area.
Mark Siredzuk, One Aldwych’s resident florist who has been with the hotel since opening in 1998, designed the tree, taking inspiration from Covent Garden’s creative spirit and energy, which is also celebrated through the curator programme and collaborations with local arts institutions the Donmar Warehouse and Somerset House, as well as through a partnership with Floral Street Fragrance to offer scent inspired cocktails and mocktails in the Lobby Bar.
‘The Twelve Days of Covent Garden’ tree features twelve items that symbolise a local attraction, including a tiny pair of ballet shoes for the Royal Opera House, musical instruments for the Covent Garden Piazza, bees to represent One Aldwych’s rooftop hives and ice-skating decorations for Somerset House.
